About me

Hi, I am Doma Lhamu Lama, a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education student with a strong passion for supporting children’s learning through creativity, curiosity, and care.

I come from a proud Nepali background, and I hold values like respect, kind and patience into my work with children. During my Diploma, I completed my childcare placement where I gained a hands-on experience supporting children’s development. And now, I am excited for my first placement as a part of my bachelor’s degree. Working with children brings me lot of joy especially watching their little moments.

Fun fact: I love using music, singing, and storytelling to connect with children and make learning fun and enjoyable.

My favourite quote is “Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play, children learn how to learn.” O. Fred Donaldson

I am looking forward to continuing my journey as an educator and making a positive impact in children’s early years.

My teaching Philosophy

I believe that every child is different, capable, and full of potential, and that kindness is the pillar of a nurturing and respectful learning environment. I try to model and encourage kindness in all interactions within the educators, children, and families because it builds trust, empathy, and strong relationships.

As an educator I aim to inspire active and curious learners by creating meaningful, hands-on experiences that encourage children to explore, question, and discover. I also believe that learning should be fun joyful and engaging for child development. Through play based and inquiry-based learning, I support anDd encourage children’s instinct to learn and help them build confidence and independent.

I am committed to provide a safe inclusive and stimulating environment where all children feel a deep sense of belonging and wellbeing. I value every child’s voice, interests and ideas, and use them to guide planning and learning experiences. I also believe in building strong partnerships with families as they are the child’s first teachers and play a important role in supporting learning and development
